COMMENT tofubeats

I am ecstatic that I got to compose the music for You and I Are Polar Opposites. I've read the series before the offer came, so imagine my surprise when they offered me this job! I created the soundtrack, hoping that the music will root for and cheer up the happy, lively characters in the show as well as the teenagers who live in the 2020s. I had such a great time composing the music, so I hope you enjoy the music of this series too.

PAS TASTA
COMMENT PAS TASTA

We wrote a song called "Pure" to be the ending theme for the anime You and I Are Polar Opposites. I’m really honored we got to be part of bringing this story to life on screen. All of us read the original again and again while we carefully crafted the track. Thanks to the incredible help of Eriko Hashimoto, who we nervously asked to join us, I think we ended up with a song that perfectly colors the everyday world of the show. From one fan to another-six fans, actually-we can’t wait for the broadcast to start.

COMMENT Eriko Hashimoto

PAS TASTA reached out to me, and I joined the project as a vocalist. The original manga is incredibly entertaining. I found myself relating to the emotions of every character. The song "Pure" fits the anime perfectly right from the intro, and I think the unexpected sound choices really reflect the personality of the protagonist. Through the recording process, I felt PAS TASTA’s passion for the song and learned so much. I’m truly happy to have been part of this project, and I’m excited for the broadcast!

Sayumi Suzushiro
Comment Comment by Sayumi Suzushiro (VA for Suzuki)

I am Sayumi Suzushiro, and I'll be playing the role of Suzuki!
When I auditioned for the role, I remember feeling like I was playing myself because there were too many things I could relate to with Suzuki.
I'm a huge fan of the original manga, so when I got the role, I was over the moon. How important it is to realize how you truly feel, and how difficult it is to understand it, as well as what it means to truly face the other person...I know you can find many things that will serve us in our daily lives in this show!
I will face Tani-kun, who is the polar opposite of Suzuki, sincerely and play Suzuki with care. Thank you!

Shogo Sakata
COMMENT Comment by Shogo Sakata (VA for Tani)

I am Shogo Sakata, and I will play the role of Tani. I've been reading You and I Are Polar Opposites since it started its serialization on Jump+. As a fan, I thought this was such a wonderful series with its pop taste and fresh, youthful dialogues of the teens while striking great balance of incorporating universal struggles that anyone can experience.
I never imagined that I would be involved in such an amazing series, so I was really surprised when I heard that I passed the audition.
I think Tani-kun is the type of person who is not very good at the subtleties of human emotions and completes the world on his own. I hope I can express how he changes through meeting Suzuki-san. Thank you for your support.

Yuna Taniguchi
COMMENT Yuna Taniguchi(VA for Watanabe)

I'm Yuna Taniguchi, and I've been given the opportunity to play the role of Watanabe, aka Nabe.
I had a bit of a rough start, as things didn't come together the way I hoped. But over time, I started to feel Nabe's energy really sink in. I focused on keeping things bright, happy, and true to her carefree spirit, and now I'm genuinely having so much fun playing her. I hope she comes across as that easygoing friend you wish you had around, and I also hope you're ready to go nuts over Suzuki and Tani-kun's love story.

Konatsu Hirabayashi
COMMENT Konatsu Hirabayashi(VA for Sato)

I'm Konatsu Hirabayashi, and I play the role of Sato.
This is my first time playing a regular role in an anime, so I was definitely nervous going in. But every time, the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the recording studio gave me the push I needed.
Sato is cool and sharp?really intelligent. And those moments when she throws out these spot-on comebacks to Suzuki or Nabe are so crisp and satisfying. Even during recording, I kept thinking, "Wow, I love how that line lands." She's effortlessly calm and steady, never wavering. I absolutely adore that about Sato. As for me, I found myself totally swept up in everyone's story arcs and my heart was constantly fluttering. I had so much fun soaking in the warmth and brightness that's been so carefully woven into the show. I'd be thrilled if you could join us in feeling all the excitement and heart-pounding moments right up to the very end. Thank you so much for your support!

Anji Iwata
COMMENT Anji Iwata(VA for Yamada)

I've been a fan of this series since the original manga, and I secretly started practicing the role of Yamada, hoping I'd get to play him if it ever got an anime adaptation. At first glance, he might seem a bit carefree and goofy, but deep down, he's honest, kind, and just a genuinely good guy. As I take on the role, I really want to bring out all the charm that makes Yamada so lovable.
His energetic, lively vibe is something I feel I can draw from my own personality too?so rather than overthinking it, I'm approaching the role without pretense. I hope you enjoy the show!

Miyuri Shimabukuro
COMMENT Miyuri Shimabukuro (VA for Azuma)

I'm Miyuri Shimabukuro, and I'll be voicing Azuma. I can finally say it, at last!
It feels a little surreal, honestly. If Azuma and I were in the same class, I doubt we'd have ever crossed paths. So the fact that I get to be connected to her in this way is both mysterious and deeply moving. From here on, I want to treat Azuma with care and do my best to become someone who truly understands her. Together with the amazing staff and with Taira, I hope we can express the world of You and I Are Polar Opposites with the tenderness and attention it deserves. Thank you.

Wataru Katoh
COMMENT Wataru Katoh (VA for Taira)

I've been following this series since its one-shot debut, and getting to be part of a story I love so much?right up through its final chapter?is a real honor. I'm thrilled to be joining as Taira.
I think Taira is someone who constantly translates his feelings into words in his head. It's like he's building mental safeguards to avoid getting hurt, but at the same time, that sometimes makes him see things in a more negative light. As I reflect on Taira and step into his role, I find myself wondering: Maybe through him, I'll learn to be a little more accepting of myself too. I've been heading to the recording studio with that quiet hope in my heart. I truly hope this anime adaptation becomes something special for someone out there?just like the original manga. I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy this anime.

Cocoro Omori
COMMENT Cocoro Omori (VA for Nishi)

I'm Cocoro Omori, and I'll be voicing Nishi.
Nishi is very shy, but her inner voice is more expressive than anyone else's. She often overthinks things and becomes negative, and I imagine many people can relate to that side of her. I've loved the original manga for a long time and always hoped to play Nishi one day. I'm overjoyed to be part of this project, and I'll do my very best to bring her to life in the best way possible. Thank you so much for your support!

Tomori Kusunoki
COMMENT Tomori Kusunoki (VA for Honda)

I'm Tomori Kusunoki, and I'll be voicing Honda!
She's got a bit of a dry personality when it comes to relationships, but within that worldview, her way with words is so clever and entertaining. Figuring out how to deliver her lines with just the right nuance to make each scene pop has been such a fun challenge.
Like Hon-chan, I'll be watching over that dazzling, radiant atmosphere, trying to keep my grin tucked behind closed lips the whole time. Stay tuned for the anime!
